  1. 4.  Solomon STANBOROUGH was born on 11 December 1766 in Greene County, Tennessee, USA (son of Nehemiah STANBOROUGH and Mary MINTHORNE); died on 24 Apr 1832 in Clinton County, Ohio.

    Notes:

    Solomon Stanborough moved with his parentsfrom New Jersey, to Frederick County, Virginia before 1788, then to Greene County, Tennessee. Around 1802, Solomon left 150 acres on waters of Little Sinking Creek, to follow the general movement of Quakers to go where no slaves were kept, Clinton County, Ohio.
    Solomon built the first jail in Clinton County, Ohio in 1810 for $600.
    Solomon and his family moved to Wilmington, Clinton County, Ohio in 1812.
    Solomon was a farmer.
    Solomon's Will is dated 4/21/1832.
    Solomon is buried in the Center MH Graveyard, NW of Wilmington, Clinton County, Ohio.
    Note: Virginia Military Tract 140 acres to Solomon 1/19/1805.

    Solomon married Tabitha JONES on 17 Feb 1789 in Greene County, Tennessee. Tabitha (daughter of Evan JONES and Mary CRAWFORD) was born about 1768; died about 1850 in Westfield, Hamilton County, Ohio. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Notes:

    Tabitha Jones Stanborough moved with her children and grandchildren to Westfield, Hamilton County, Ohio about 1834, two years after the death of her husband, Solomon Stanborough.
    Tabitha was of the Quaker religion.
    In the 1850 Ohio Census, Tabitha is listed next to grandsons John & James. Tabitha is 81 years old, living with daughter-in-law Elizabeth, wife of son Evan Stanborough. Tabitha is thought to be buried in Martha Doan Memorial Cemetery, Westfield, Hamilton County, Ohio.
